What Anders Behring Breivik Believes

I suppose an argument could be made that what happened in Norway last week doesn’t qualify as a hate crime since Breivik’s targets weren’t Islamic people per se but government workers and the children of Labourites. But as Breivik explains in his* 1000-and-a-half page manifesto, “A European Declaration of Independence,” the enemy isn’t only Islam. It’s the “alien system of beliefs, attitudes and values….that we have come to know as ‘Political Correctness.’”Atlas Shrugs’s Pamela Geller decries the “Islamic/leftist machine” for its suggestion that anti-Islamist bloggers such as herself might bear any share of the blame for the atrocity. She is indignant when writers characterize her wholesale demonization of a religion that includes some 1.6 billion people, almost a quarter of the world’s population, as “prejudiced” and outraged that anyone would presume to connect the dots between her own writings and Breivik’s.

It is almost inconceivable that one passing reference in a 1,516-page screed would be sufficient for the Islamic/leftist machine to assign blame to yours truly, and to those of us who are working diligently to educate the people. It's extraordinary that this is being swallowed whole by the mainstream media. It's extraordinary that we experience thwarted plots, acts of jihad on a weekly and sometimes daily basis, without the mainstream media ever referring to the very ideology that inspires, commands, and prescribes such violence. But the left wing alternative media is madly running with this.

Geller’s demurrals evoke Henry Ford’s dismissals of Jewish critics of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion back in the 1920s: “There is a serious snare in all this plea for tolerance,” Ford argued. “There can be no tolerance until there is first a full understanding of what is tolerated.” If the Jews are trying to take over the world and destroy civilization, then what exactly is the point of being open minded about it? If Islam is intrinsically evil, if Shariah, the body of Islamic law, is defined, as Frank Gaffney's Center for Security Policy does, as "an alien legal system hostile to and in contravention of the U.S. Constitution," then it follows logically that "those who seek to establish shariah in America—whether by violent means or by stealth—can be said to be engaged in criminal sedition, not the protected practice of a religion." Henry Ford said exactly the same thing about the Jewish courts, back in the 1920s.

There is a Jewish court sitting in a public building in the city of New York every week, and other courts, for the sole advantage and use of this people whose spokesmen deny that they are a ‘separate people’ are in formation everywhere...Jewish tendencies are permitted to work unhindered, the result is not ‘Americanization,’ or ‘Anglicization’ nor any other distinctive nationalism, but a strong and ruling reversion back to essential ‘Judaization.’

Of course neither Geller nor Gaffney nor Robert Spencer, whose name appeared many more times than hers in the Declaration, should be blamed for the carnage. As Spencer rightly put it in the statement he released, “Anders Behring Breivik is responsible for his actions.” But Geller goes a step further and puts the blame on Islam itself--and on the European left. “If anyone incited him to violence," she says, "It was Islamic supremacists. If anything incited him to violence, it was the Euro-Med policy.”I suspect that Geller is not the only right wing blogger who’s nervously typed her name into the Find function of her computer since Breivik’s manifesto turned up on-line. Among the authorities Breivik quotes is a foe of Political Correctness you might not think of as having a lot of currency in twenty first century Norway: “The US’s founders,” Breivik writes, “recognised three primal values in the Declaration of Independence, and they ranked them properly: Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. If the order of these fundamental human rights is switched – with happiness before liberty or liberty before life – we come to moral chaos and social anarchy. This very condition is what Judge Robert Bork describes as ‘modern liberalism.’”It is these “modern liberals”—or, not to put too fine a point on it, Marxist-Leftist-Relativist-Feminist-Deconstructionist-Multiculturalists—who have opened Europe’s door to Islam, Breivik argues. And the time for reasoned discussion with them is long past.

The Muslims showed us that deadly shock attacks are the only tool we have at the moment which will guarantee that our voice is heard. By forcing them to acknowledge our presence and explaining our agenda to everyone we are making it very hard for the cultural Marxist/multiculturalist media establishment to ignore the call of the free people of Europe. The message is simple: “WE DO NOT WANT AND WILL NOT TOLERATE ISLAM IN EUROPE!” Any individual or organisation that actively supports or are participating (directly or indirectly as silent bystanders) in the Islamisation of Europe are flagged as valid targets…Our phase 1 strategy is a simple strategy of repeated pin-pricks and bleedings that, though small in proportion to the total force strength, sap the will of the current EU regimes to continue the fight or at least will force them to open their eyes to reality earlier (and identify the Islamisation of Europe as a threat to all Europeans).

Breivik’s manifesto includes hundreds of pages detailing Islam’s implacable hatred of the West, which, allied with its supposedly Machiavellian propensity to dissimulate and lie (attributes that were also assigned to the Jews in the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, and to the Jesuits in centuries of anti-Catholic propaganda), renders any notion of Islamic moderation frankly laughable.

The spectacular acts of Islamic terrorism in the late 20th and early 21st centuries are but the most recent manifestation of a global war of conquest that Islam has been waging since the days of the Prophet Muhammad in the 7th Century AD and that continues apace today. This is the simple, glaring truth that is staring the world today in the face – and which has stared it in the face numerous times in the past -- but which it seems few today are willing to contemplate.It is important to realise that we have been talking about Islam -- not Islamic"fundamentalism," "extremism," "fanaticism," "Islamo-fascism," or "Islamism," but Islam proper, Islam in its orthodox form as it has been understood and practiced by right believing Muslims from the time of Muhammad to the present.

To be fair, Breivik doesn’t only blame the left for Islam’s Western incursions—he finds fault with the far right as well, and at the same time, gives the lie to Robert Spencer's claim that Breivik is a "disgusting neo-Nazi."

I remain a staunch anti-Nazi and I blame NSDAP for the situation we are in. Hadn’t it been for the actions of the cultural right wing extremists known as the NSDAP our Western European countries would not be dominated by the cultural Marxist extremist regimes we witness today. If the NSDAP had been isolationistic instead of imperialistic(expansionist) and just deported the Jews (to a liberated and Muslim free Zion) instead of massacring them, the anti-European hate ideology known as multiculturalism would have never been institutionalized in Western Europe, because the Marxists would never have been so radicalized to begin with. The cultural conservatives would have been in a very strong and dominant situation today. Western European countries would have had cultural conservative doctrines similar to what we see in Japan and South Korea.

Breivik’s imaginary army of neo-Templars, he claims, is prepared to fight a new Crusade against both Islam and its liberal enablers, the “’Nazis of our time’; the cultural Marxist/multiculturalist elites, who are leading us to the cultural slaughterhouse by selling us into Muslim slavery.”“I am perhaps the biggest champion of cultural conservativism Europe has ever witnessed since 1950,” he grandiosely concludes. “I am one of many destroyers of cultural Marxism and as such; a hero of Europe, a savior of our people and of European Christendom – by default. A perfect example which should be copied, applauded and celebrated.”* He uses the pseudonym Andrew Berwick and styles himself “Justiciar Knight Commander for Knights Templar Europe and one of several leaders of the National and pan-European Patriotic Resistance Movement.”
