The better off you are, the more likely you are to kvetch
I was looking at some survey data yesterday. Fascinating, and not the least bit surprising, to see that outcomes for COVID-19 sufferers are in inverse proportion to their income levels (ie, the less means you have, the more likely you are to die), as are self-reports of emotional and mental well-being. The higher your income, the sorrier you feel for yourself.My mother could have told me that without all the cost and bother of running a survey. But when you look at it in that light, it makes sense that the billionaire president of the United States sees himself as not just the great hero of this national crisis, but its biggest victim.
